Pigments

In pigments, BCD Chemie offers the titanium dioxide white pigment on the one hand, and pigment dispersions from Cabot for high-quality printing inks on the other.

Titanium dioxide

Titanium dioxide is the most important white pigment due to its high refractive index, resulting in high whiteness and very good hiding power.

Titanium dioxide is found in virtually all products where high whiteness is important, such as white inks and coatings, white plastics and bright white paper. But titanium dioxide is also used in coloured products in addition to the colour pigments.

BCD Chemie supplies anatase types in addition to rutile types.
Products from both manufacturing processes, the sulfate and chloride processes, are available.

In addition to titanium dioxide in powder form, BCD Chemie also offers titanium dioxide slurries. These are easy to use, eliminating the need for time-consuming dispersion of the titanium dioxide.

Pigment dispersions

Coloured inks based on dissolved dyes or dispersed pigments are used for inkjet printers. The dyes have the disadvantage that they have low durability and fade over time.

Pigment-based inks, on the other hand, show high stability and do not fade. Therefore, they are used wherever this high stability is required, such as on banners in outdoor areas (UV stable), on textiles or for high-quality photo prints.

Cabot’s CAB-O-JET aqueous pigment dispersions are stabilised without surfactants, which further increases water resistance.

The pigment dispersions are available in CMYK basic colours, but other colours such as blue or red are also available for even more brilliant colours.
