With effect from 1 January 2020, Brenntag, the world market leader in the distribution of chemicals and ingredients, is the main distributor for Dow’s VORASURF™ silicone polyurethane additives, a broad portfolio of proven surfactants for stabilising polyurethane foams in production.

“The VORASURF™ line of polyurethane additives is a valuable addition to our portfolio and we are proud to use it to expand our longstanding relationship with Dow. The cooperation with one of the largest companies in the material sciences in the world strengthens Brenntag’s position as the preferred supplier in these markets even further,” says Martin Rimmer, Director Marketing Coatings & Construction EMEA.

Brenntag is the main distributor in Spain, Portugal, Italy, France, the UK and Ireland, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Turkey and all parts of Central and Eastern Europe (except Poland). In Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Poland, BCD Chemie, a subsidiary of Brenntag, has also been the main distributor since 1 January 2020.

VORASURF™ polyurethane additives cover a wide range of applications, including viscoelastic flexible foams, microcellular foams, rigid foams, highly elastic moulded foams and many others. These additives can improve the compatibility of the polyurethane components, reduce the surface tension of the reaction system, assist the nucleation process, control the coalescence of the gas bubbles formed, and achieve optimal foam cell structures.
